Tempe Diablo Stadium
Founded in 1968, Tempe Diablo Stadium is one of the longest standing spring facilities in the state and home to the Los Angeles Angels (formerly known as the Anaheim Angels). The stadium and all of its facilities overlook Gene Autry Field and the beautiful Marriott Buttes Resort. Not only is the complex one of the more picturesque facilities, it is one of the most accessible complexes in the Phoenix Metro area.
Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, Sloan Park in Mesa is the newest facility in the Valley. The largest spring training stadium in the country, Sloan Park offers a wide variety of Chicago delicacies including deep-dish pizza, Chicago hot dogs, craft beers from the Windy City and other traditional stadium fare.
Salt River Fields
A marquee addition to Scottsdale entertainment options, Salt River Fields in North Scottsdale is adjacent to TopGolf and Talking Stick Resort and Casino. Catch the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies throughout spring while enjoying local views of the McDowell Mountain range in the distance.
Spring Training season is a favorite from local Arizonans to die-hard fans from across the country who flock to the Valley to witness their team up close. Make the most of your ballgame by:
- Arriving early: Many players spend extra time warming up and engaging with attending fans. This lends a great opportunity to see your favorite athlete up close and maybe even get an autograph.
- Dress appropriately: While the weather is typically sunny and 75, don’t be fooled by the beautiful climate. Stay hydrated and wear sunblock.
All that will be left is to grab some peanuts and cracker jacks and enjoy watching America’s favorite pastime.
