Local Rules


  • USGA Rules govern all play except where modified by local rules.
  • “Out of Bounds” is defined by walls or fences around existing homes, fences around homes under construction, perimeter walls, stakes, white lines on cart paths, and the inside edge of all community roadways.
  • Penalty areas are marked with red lines and stakes.
  • Ground under repair is identified by white lines.
  • A drop area is provided on hole #14 of Prospector for relief of the lateral water hazard only.
  • Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Players taking relief from a stone that is touching a ball must DROP the ball no closer to the hole and in the bunker.
  • “Retaining Walls” are integral parts of the golf course.
  • The “Embedded Ball Rule” is in effect through the green in grass areas only.
  •  Newly sodden areas and sod seams may be played as ground under repair.
  • USGA approved distance measuring devices that provide yardages are allowed.
  • Sprinkler head yardages are measured to the front and center of the green.
  • Time Par is 4 hours on Prospector and 4 hours and 15 minutes on Lost Gold. Please be cognizant of your pace of play for the enjoyment of all players.
  • Sprinkler Head Rule: You are entitled to free relief from a greenside sprinkler head under the following conditions:
    1.  The sprinkler head must be on your intended line of play. 
    2. Both the sprinkler head and your ball are in the fringe/fairway grass (no rough or dormant Bermuda) 
    3. The sprinkler head must be within 2 club lengths of the edge of the green.  
    4. Your ball must be within 2 club lengths of the sprinkler head. If all these conditions are met, you may drop the ball at your nearest point of relief plus 1 club length, no nearer the hole.
