How to Make Your Own Pizza - Easy to Follow

Superstition Mountain’s talented Chef Eric shared his recipes for both pizza dough and pizza sauce. Perfect for the next time you decide to cook at home, these recipes are easy to follow and make for a delicious pizza night. 

PIZZA DOUGH

Ingredients:

  • 6 cups pizza flour
  • 4 cups water at 110 degrees
  • 1 tbsp. dry yeast
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tbsp. salt
  • ¼ cup olive oil


Directions:

  • Mix dry ingredients together
  • Add water and oil, and mix for five minutes
  • Transfer dough to a bowl and cover with plastic wrap, allowing dough to double in size (Approximately 10 minutes)
  • Cut dough to desired weight and knead into a ball (Tip: Superstition’s are 10 oz)
  • Store the dough on a greased pan or bowl and cover
  • Allow dough to sit for a couple of hours to rest for best results before stretching
  • Use a rolling pin to stretch dough into a circle shape on pizza pan
  • Preheat oven to 450 degrees and grease pizza pan
  • Apply sauce and desired toppings
  • Bake in oven for 15-20 minutes
  • Let pizza cool for five minutes before serving
PIZZA SAUCE

Ingredients:

  • 28 oz can San Marzano plum tomatoes
  • ¼ pound basil
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • ¼  cup olive oil

Directions:

  • Add all ingredients to a food processor and mix until incorporated
