5 Upcoming Arizona Charity Golf Events

Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club values giving back to the community, and there’s no better way for members of our private, golf course community to do so than through golf. Whether you like to participate or just want to support a great cause while watching the action unfold, here are a few upcoming charity golf events you won’t want to miss.

1. VFW Post 549 Golf Tournament
Take a road trip south to Tucson for the second annual VFW Post 549 Golf Tournament. The event will take place at the Fred Enke Golf Course on Sept. 7 beginning with a 7 a.m. shotgun start. Participants can register solo for $50 or as a team for $200. Each registration includes the green and cart fee, lunch and door prizes. All proceeds will benefit Veterans of Foreign Wars.

2. “How’s My Driving” Charity Golf Tournament
Join the Police Officers of Scottsdale Association Outreach (POSA Outreach) for a Saturday of golf at Gainey Ranch Golf Club. The organization’s fourth annual “How’s My Driving” Charity Golf Tournament will take place Sept. 14. Each entry includes breakfast, games and contests, a silent auction, buffet luncheon, golf cart obstacle course and an awards ceremony following the tournament. All proceeds raised will go toward helping Scottsdale’s police volunteers provide valuable community outreach programs for children and adults in need.

3. Sedona 30 Miracle Golf Tournament
Head to the beautiful Oakcreek Country Club for the Sedona 30 Miracle Golf Tournament. Held on Sept. 21, the four-player scramble is open to golfers of all ages and abilities. Each registration fee of $200 includes a continental breakfast, lunch, green fees and cart, beverages and awards. Funds from this year’s tournament will benefit a variety of causes including Sedona Food Bank, the community Thanksgiving dinner, high school scholarships and the Jack Jamesen Memorial Park.

4. Believe Beyond Ability Golf Tournament
Support children with disabilities at the fifth annual Believe Beyond Ability Charity Golf Tournament. Held at Lone Tree Golf Course in Chandler, the four-person scramble will tee off at 7 a.m. on Sept. 28. Each registration includes a day of golf, breakfast, lunch and raffle prizes. Each entry fee of $100 will go toward Believe Beyond Ability.

5. Shelley Hamlin Memorial Pro-Am
In October 2018, LPGA legend Shelley Hamlin passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. To honor her life, the Shelley Hamlin Memorial Pro-Am golf tournament will take place on Sept. 28 at the Arizona Biltmore Golf Club. Registration for the 18-hole tournament will begin at 7 a.m. followed by an 8 a.m. shotgun start. After the tournament, attendees will enjoy an awards reception and lunch at the Biltmore Adobe Restaurant. All event proceeds will go toward Laptops 4 Learning, a nonprofit organization created to provide computers for students and veterans who need them most.

These are just a few upcoming events where you can enjoy golf while showing your support for deserving causes.
