Upcoming Arizona Golf Tournaments in January 2019

Even in the heart of winter, golf season never slows down here in Arizona. Now is the perfect time to brush up on your golf skills. Whether you’re participating or spectating, be sure to check out these events.

JAAM Classic Golf Tournament
Support the Junior Adaptive Athletes In Motion Foundation at the 2019 JAAM Classic Golf Tournament on Jan. 11. The tournament will be held in Scottsdale at TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. JAAM provides adaptive equipment to local junior athletes and supports sport programming in Arizona.

Whirlwind Golf Scramble
Whirlwind Golf Club at Wildhorse Pass in Chandler will host the 6th annual Whirlwind Golf Scramble on Jan. 18. Each registered participant will receive 18 holes of golf, lunch and prizes. All proceeds from the tournament will go toward the Valley Christian High School golf team. Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at noon.

NVC Golf Tournament
Join in on an 18-hole, four-person team scramble at the NVC Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held Jan. 19 at Deer Valley Golf Course in Sun City West. Registration includes breakfast, a tee gift, range balls, a green fee, lunch, dessert and an after-party with live music.

Waste Management Phoenix Open
Don’t miss “The Greatest Show on Grass” at the 84th annual Waste Management Phoenix Open. The PGA Tour’s most attended stop begins Jan. 31 and runs through Feb. 3 at TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course. As one of the most unique events in the world of golf, the Open offers a livelier atmosphere than the average golf event. Attendees can purchase tickets online or at the gate during tournament week.

2019 Women’s Season Opener
Take the journey down to Tucson for the Women’s Season Opener. Held at the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort on Feb. 9, female amateur golfers are invited to take part in an 18-hole, four-ball stroke play tournament. For eligibility, female golfers must be Arizona Golf Association members in good standing.

Legacy Men’s Spring Classic
Spend your morning at Raven Golf Club at South Mountain for the Legacy Men’s Spring Classic. Men are invited to participate in a four-man scramble on Feb. 22. Registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. followed by a silent auction before tee time. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Phoenix Rescue Mission.
