Wedding Trends For Your Dream Wedding

Unlike many prestigious private golf clubs, Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club is open to the public for weddings and special events. You don’t need to be a member, or sponsored by a member, to bask in the serenity of the Superstition Mountains and enjoy breathtaking views with dramatic desert sunsets on your special day.

We consulted with our talented event team to round up a few trends, classic moves and extra special touches that will turn your dream wedding into a reality.

Ice Sculptures
The Knot notes that custom ice sculptures are a sure fire way to create memorable moments at your wedding. Move over swans, modern ice sculptures are being use as interactive pieces of reception décor, think seafood ice bars and beverage dispensers.

Fun Fact: Superstition Mountain’s very own Food & Beverage Director, Josh Nylin, is a talented ice sculptor.

Pop That Pattern
Solid color themes have been the norm in wedding planning for ages but recently couples have been going bold, mixing colors and patterns throughout their attire and décor. Patterns can be bold or subtly incorporated into things like invitations, table linens and even printed on the dancefloor.

For the wedding party, attire can go all the way with printed dresses and suits or add just a pop of interest with patterned shoes and ties.

Top picks: Geometric designs, fun florals, chevron and Damascus patterns are popular options.

Rethink The Flowers
Chic but uncommon flower choices like wooden, dried or silk flowers can be just as beautiful as fresh … and will certainly last longer. No need to stress about floral delivery the day of your wedding or wilting table arrangements. Consider mixing nontraditional flowers with fresh flowers to create a distinctive bouquet.

Tip: Use pages from your favorite book or sheet music of your wedding song for romantic, custom paper bridal bouquets and boutonnieres or sprinkled into decorative flower arrangements.

 A Toast

Whether you opt for a trendy cupcake station or a traditional wedding cake, the toast and dessert portion of the reception is a timeless tradition.

While many people in the bridal party – or friends and family – will offer toasts to the couple throughout the event, it’s a nice touch for the newlyweds to offer up a toast to their guests as well.  for joining them on this special day. Take an opportunity during the the cake cutting/dessert presentation – when everyone will pause their dancing, wining and dining to again focus on the couple –  to thank those closest to you for taking part in this special day.

No matter what kind of wedding you have in mind – from a grand affair to an intimate dinner party – make decisions that feel right for you. Don’t worry too much about the trends, or what other people may think, and design an event that matches your personality and what you and your spouse imagine when you dream of your wedding day.
