Guide to Spring Training in Arizona

If you’re looking for another way to enjoy the spectacular March weather, then take a break from playing on our two Nicklaus-designed golf courses and head to one of the ten Spring Training baseball stadiums in the Valley for America’s favorite pastime. Below are a few of the closest stadiums to our private gated community.

Holokam Stadium
Home to the Oakland Athletics for the month of March, recently renovated Hohokam Stadium in Mesa is one of the longest standing Spring Training facilities in the state, first opening in 1964. Due to its recent upgrades to seating, shading, vendors and other fan entertainment experiences, this Mesa-area stadium has quickly become one of the best Spring Training Baseball destinations in Arizona.

Sloan Park
Watch the World Series Champion Chicago Cubs in action at Sloan Park in Mesa! The moment you step into Sloan Park – the newest and largest capacity Spring Training stadium in the country – you’ll be transported to a little slice of the Windy City. The Cubs’ spring facility treats guests to tastes of Chicago like deep-dish pizza, Chicago hot dogs and other traditional stadium fare.

Salt River Fields
Often recognized for its shopping, fine cuisine and night life, Scottsdale is also the location of Salt River Fields (SRF), training facility and stadium for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies. Whether you’re seated in the stands or on the grassy lawn, you’ll have excellent views of the players, field and surrounding desert scenery. Keep the fun going after the final inning, Salt River Fields is adjacent to Scottsdale attractions Topgolf and Talking Stick Resort and Casino.

Spring Training season is a favorite from local Arizonans to die-hard fans from across the country who flock to the Valley to witness their team up close. While the weather is beautiful, always remember to dress appropriately, stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun with sunblock for these outdoor games. All that will be left is to grab some peanuts and cracker jacks and enjoy relaxing while you watch America’s favorite pastime.
