The Landscape submittals are reviewed by Kathy Braun, who is a current member of the DRC, and Anne Ellis, the Design Review Committee's consulting landscape Master Gardener. Together, they will present their landscape recommendations at the monthly Design Review meetings for review and approval. Kathy and Anne are assisted by Assistant Manager and Design Review Coordinator, Nicole Abate. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Nicole by email, or by calling the office. 

If you are currently involved in the Design Review process on a new home or a significant remodel, Landscape Review is part of the process. Please find below the most current versions of the Approved Plant List in PDF format and the Landscape Spreadsheet/Landscape Calculator in Excel format. Please note that the landscape spreadsheet has locked cells, with notes in the editable cells to assist you in completing it. If you have any questions on how to use the calculator, please contact Nicole Abate. 

Meetings

The SMOA Design Review Committee will review the landscape plan at its monthly meetings at the Carriage House, located at 3977 S. Superstition Mountain Drive. The next meeting will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 8:30 am. The agenda for that meeting will be made available during the prior week.

All submittals need to be delivered to the Association offices no less than two weeks prior to the scheduled meeting. Materials delivered less than two weeks prior will be placed on the following month's agenda.

Please check back prior to each meeting, as meeting dates may change. Also note the changes in red.
